Wall-E release postponed until December 2008
No!!! This just sucks!
Pixar is postponing the release of Wall-E for at least 6 MONTHS because of a failed dispute over the design of the Wall-E robot. Because of this, Pixar is more or less going back to the drawing board to redesign a new Wall-E. This means new posters, new trailers…NEW EVERYTHING. Man, they might as well just start from scratch.
Apparently, Syd Phillips, a former Pixar employee, is claiming that his original designs for Wall-E were used and stolen after he had been “released” from the company for unknown reasons. Phillips has been in and out of court with Pixar Studios on this matter, and on Friday Pixar was ordered to cease use of any and all images with the Wall-E we’ve all come to know.
As of right now, the film is expected to be released in December 2008 rather than June 2008.
